if persistence and stubbornness are different connotations with the same meaning, i have a suggestion for a noun which includes both connotations.

is it human to expect? is it human to hope?

here comes the thing we've been preparing for for the past 2 years. despite how i dont like it, this seems to be a primary factor in our future. and all focus from almost everyone is on it now.
throughout time spent studying for this in the past 2 years, i thought i learnt quite abit. emotionally, mentally, physically, academically, verbally. lessons were everywhere, not difficult to just pick one to start from.
yet i cant really find a particular incident or event that i can point to and say 'hey, i've learnt so much from this' . how much have i really learnt? how have i become a better person? teach me how to measure progress please.
they say change is the only constant. yet can there be changes in our inherent thinking methods and personality that's been built up over the past years through exposure and experience? probably only with more experiences of another nature may we do so, i guess? but how do we actually immerse ourself in another type of behaviour if we are currently not that type of person?
looking back, i think i've known much more about this world than 2 years ago. but i dont see my thinking changing much, my inner desires remain as disgusting as can get. utter disgust and horror. mayb the old chinese saying of how a man can never change his nature, is really true. darn.
